Servsafe is a 16 hour course.  It is designed to be a certification for a foodhandler permit.  The knowledge and video based activities will help prepare you for the certification exam.  Handouts will be given to be used as a study guide for you to prepare for the exam.  All foodservice establishments and baking programs will require you to pass the Servsafe Food Mananger Exam, therefore it is in you best interest to take notes and prepare for the exam.
